How To: Use Cerave Resurfacing Retinol Serum

I’ve been using the cerave resurfacing retinol serum for a while now and I definitely experienced purging during the first few weeks.

From their website:

Retinol Serum helps smooth your skin's texture by reducing the appearance of post-acne marks, minimizing the look of pores and improving your skin’s surface. Our formula contains encapsulated retinol to help resurface your skin, plus licorice root extract to help brighten your skin’s appearance. In addition, it's formulated with 3 essential ceramides  that work together to lock in skins moisture and help restore your skin’s protective barrier, along with soothing niacinamide. MVE technology encapsulates ceramides to ensure efficient delivery within the skin’s barrier and slow release over time. Supporting your protective skin barrier, long after you’ve finish applying. Lightweight and fast-absorbing, our resurfacing serum helps restore your even skin tone and promote a healthy-looking complexion.

My personal experience so far:

-✅No irritation

✅No dryness

✅Quite thick

✅No fragrance

The purging was in the form of pimples all over the forehead area for about two weeks! I really didn't care much about it because I knew my skin tolerates high strength serums and this particular cerave retinol doesn't cause irritation.

I use it at night:

Double Cleanse

Allow skin to dry

Apply the cerave Resurfacing Retinol Serum

Apply The Ordinary rosehip seed oil

It's as easy as this! Be sure to wear your sunscreen during the day!

This is recommended for those new to retinol (I've used higher strength serums before. I love that this is easy to apply and if you are new to Skin Care, you can easily start off with this retinol. In addition, you can continue with your other serums during the daytime. Therefore, this is suitable for those who tend to be very busy in the morning and won’t need to use so many serums to control, dryness or irritation from using the retinal from Cerave.

After this serum, you could increase the strength of your next retinol or try a retinal, or even switch to tretinoin for more treatment
